Hey, heyy......
So, in case it hasn't been mentioned before, I'm not a huge fan of steak but I will of course try it at different locations when I go places, sometimes. With that disclaimer now out there, let's take a visit to Longhorn Steakhouse and not get steak.
My best friend and I decided to visit Longhorn Steakhouse in Florence, SC. It's located near the mall and in the plaza of a small shopping area which can be very convenient for anyone who visits and wants to shop and end the day at Longhorn.
The service coming in was amazing, however, we did go during the later hours about 6-7 pm EST which is typically around their busiest hours. We ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes to be seated, but once we were our server was quick to bring our drinks and input our appetizers and she was really sweet and friendly.
I ended up ordering the longhorn salmon meal (shown above) which came served with bourbon marinated salmon (which you can get in either 7oz. or 10oz.; 7oz pictured) and two sides, which I chose seasoned pilaf rice and asparagus. I also ordered a 6 oz. lobster tail that's served with warm melted butter with my order as an additional side.
We also wanted to try their drinks, but we asked our server to provide us with her recommendation which was the strawberry margarita (shown above). This drink consisted of el Jimador Tequila, triple sec, and strawberries. You can either order the drink as just the glass only or as long pour (which allows for two full glasses). The drink itself, for me, was not super strong at all and the alcohol was not overpowering, it made for a nice, sweet, evening drink on our night out.
Let's talk food: To begin with, Let's just say the lobster tail alone was absolutely amazing! Alone, it was a 10/10, highly recommend, it was seasoned and cooked to perfection and the melted butter made it ten times better. The salmon was also really good, it was nice and tender, very rich in flavor, the bourbon marinade was simply amazing, and the salmon flaked perfectly, 10/10.
As far as the sides go: the asparagus was amazing, I do wish it was seasoned a little more but as fresh seared asparagus, it was very nice, 8/10. The seasoned pilaf rice was my least favorite of the evening, it was very bland and a little hard. I thought it would pair well with the salmon, but I was not impressed this visit; I wouldn't mind going back to try it again on another night, but this particular night, it was a 4/10.
Overall, I would rate the entire experience a 9/10, because it was a great evening with my best friend, the service was amazing, the wait time was understandable and they showed effort in wanting to get us taken care of, and the food was all in all amazing. Definitely, go, make your own experience and try something new.
