There's nothing wrong with trying something a little different.... you know what I always say... IT'S FOR THE EXPERIENCE!
Everybody deserves a special day to themselves, whether that's treating yourself to great meal, jewelry or clothes, or an adventure. Well on this particular day, it was all of the above for my little sister and me. We decided to go on a little shopping spree to Columbiana Centre Mall, because why not, right?! Well, they had just opened this new place called Garra spas which is a fish spa.
The Garra spas are a fish spa experience for anyone who wants to have this experience, including kids. The fish are known as Garra Rufa, these specific types of fish are attracted to the vibration in the water, which occurs as soon as you put your feet in the water from the pulse in your body. These types of fish were popular for many years, originally for patients with psoriasis, to today's times where they are mostly known for providing "fish pedicures".
Now, I know exactly what you are thinking, fish pedicures, no. Don't worry, I said the same thing, and it becomes even more real when you're there and you see the fish as you prepare to put your feet into their world. However, once you get over the fact that it's actually happening, the experience isn't so bad. It definitely takes some getting used to because you will obviously feel them there, but the people that worked at this specific location made it so much easier to relax.
I, personally, enjoyed the spa, granted, I'm not a huge fan of anything in between my toes, much less fish, but the result of it, was well worth it. Once we had sat there in the water for a while, our tech dried us off, scrubbed our feet and then moisturized them while hand massaging them, let's just say, it felt like I was walking on air afterwards.
The service at this location, was TOP TIER!!!! They were super friendly, very funny, honest, caring, and provided a step by step of the entire process. And because a lot of people walking by in the mall were hesitant to try it, we ended up getting a lot of people to come in and it made the experience that much better because it was nothing but great conversations and laughter.
Overall, I would definitely say 10/10, highly recommend, that everyone try this experience. It may seem very different or strange, but very rewarding.
