Life as a bird....

Have you ever been asked "If you could have one superpower, what would it be?"...

Typically, the answer is always flying.... Well, why not get a taste of what that would be like by going indoor skydiving. This was definitely one of those things you just had to go for. If you have always wanted to actually go skydiving, this is the perfect opportunity to see whether you really want to go skydiving or not. My little sister and I decided to visit iFLY located in Concord, NC to fly in their state-of-the-art vertical wind tunnels.

The process to have this experience was extremely quick and easy! While you can go to the location for bookings, they also have the option for you to book online, pay, and sign the wavers for easy check-in on the date of your flight. We simply walked in, gave them our names and received our wristbands and waited for the instructional class. Prior to flying, you can also select the group/number of people flying and time you would like to fly. This is useful because if you want to only fly with friends and family, you have the option to do so, or you can be with other small groups who plan on flying that day as well, which is what we did. As far as packages, they do have different kinds, some with different types of flying (whether high or low or both) and the number of times you plan on going flying within the group.

Our trainer was absolutely AMAZING, he interacted with us, made all of our instructions clear, and answered any questions we may have had prior to flying. We decided to go flying 3 times, this allowed us, one time to try it out, another time to have our one-on-one time with the trainer in a standard position, and then the last time to fly up within the tunnel with our trainer. The wind speeds are a replica of what it would be like to actually go skydiving, so they were fairly strong, and it is important to make sure you leave all personal items, including jewelry either in your car, or the lockers provided.

Now, I'm sure no one could really tell, but I was super nervous, but once I did the first flight, I was like, "okayyyy, this isn't bad". At the end of the flights, we returned all the provided flying gear and received our flying certificates which were really nice. They also take pictures and videos of you during your flight for you to purchase at the end of your experience, online. Even though it was indoor skydiving, it was definitely thrilling and eye-opening; we had so much fun, and we definitely plan on going back.

Overall, I would highly recommend trying this experience, it was a 10/10, the service was absolutely amazing, and the flights were even better. They also have multiple locations in multiple states, so make sure to look up iFly to see what location would be closest to you.
