HONNNNEEEEEYYYYYYYYY......
These tacos were so delicious, over the top amazing, and what I really mean is, beyond words, they were just that good!
It was one of those days that I decided to visit Sumter, SC but was hungry as soon as I got in town. While talking with some of my family and trying to find out where we wanted to eat for the day, we decided to try some guy's food named Chef Curt, that they had all heard about. I personally, had never heard of him, but he was doing a pop-up plate event in the area, so we decided to pop up....
Once we got to the pop up located outside of Piper's Pottery Studio located on 575 Broad St., it was already kind of packed which let me know my family was on to something and may have just picked the right place to eat. We went over to the tent and ordered our food, which was a very nice, quick and smooth transaction. Chef Curt was very nice and definitely had such a positive and funny energy to him. He talked to us and went over our options and had such a great presentation when it came to his very own "YESSUH" all-purpose seasoning salt-free, yes, you read right, his own seasoning (pictured below).
My sister and I decided to order the jerk chicken tacos w/ pineapple salsa and my aunt ordered the Gouda smash burger. Once we received our orders we went back to the truck and didn't even sit down good and our plates were already opened because the aroma was so strong, and we were so hungry. I have never tried pineapples on food, including pizza, but for some reason, I was like, "let's just go for it, for the experience". So, that's exactly what I did, went for it, took the first bite and was stunned at the burst of flavor that was packed in that one bite. Everything was cooked perfectly, it had a nice sweet and savory taste to it, where nothing overpowered the next, all of the ingredients worked well together. However, that after taste, had a very nice hint of spiciness. It wasn't too overwhelming, considering I like some spicy foods, but it also wasn't expected. However, it still worked with the entirety of the jerk chicken taco and the onions you could barely taste at all, which I loved.
I also did manage to get a piece of the Gouda smash burger, which was incredible. It was also very flavorful, the cheese and the seasonings definitely made that burger, and I was wishing I had ordered a burger for later. But overall, the prices were worth it because the food was definitely amazing. He can be found in different areas and also provides private chef experiences, and you can find out more using the link below. Overall, I would say this was a 10/10 experience, the food was amazing, the chef is amazing, and even though I didn't know about him, I definitely know now, and if you don't know, go find out!
