I was trying to emphasize how "The waffle bus" is literally everything waffles, let's see if I can really emphasize how true that statement is. Besides the chicken waffle sandwich, (found in the most recent post) of course we had a side, or something like it, lol.
We did not realize that this "side" was just another meal for us, because it definitely filled us because it was so much food, which made it so worth it! This dish known as, Chicken Thunder Fries, consisted of seasoned waffle fries that were topped with buttermilk fried chicken bites, spicy mayo, and ancho chile honey butter. This mixture was so delicious, it sounds like a lot, but it mixed well together, and we loved it! However, we did try this without the spicy mayo, but it still worked. The buttermilk fried chicken bites were such a burst of flavor, full of great seasonings, cooked perfectly, and full of moisture. The fries were nice and crispy, but just the right amount of crispy, you know, that middle between super soft or soggy French fries versus the super crispy close to burnt French fries. The ancho chile honey butter sauce was wonderful, it really brought the entire dish together, it had such a tangy taste to it, the honey in it wasn't overwhelming at all and created such a subtle feel and taste to the sauce. It was enough for two people to share, even though I'm sure one person could eat it, we were probably just so full, from having a "food hop" day, lol.
Small insert: Food Hop: The act of going from restaurant to restaurant to try foods until we are overly full, much like going bar hopping, but without the drinks.
Now, they do also sell milkshakes, so what is a meal without a drink?! I mean, they do have actual drinks like water and sodas but is a milkshake even a drink, or a snack, some could argue?! The most interesting thing about their milkshakes is that they were cereal flavored, fruity pebbles, Oreos, etc. We actually tried the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Milkshake, which actually had cinnamon toast crunch bits on top and within the milkshake. It was really good, sweet, of course, and the bits throughout the shake were finely crushed into the smoothness of the milkshake.
Overall, the Chicken Thunder Fries were definitely 11/10 highly recommend, they were so good, and to this day I'm so upset we didn't get to finish because we were so full of all the other foods, but we really tried, lol. The milkshake, 10/10, highly recommend, and I would definitely tell everyone to try these delicious treats.
